I don't know what you mean by hang out, but since this is in the dining out section I'll answer it that way. Bangkok 54 is an amazing thai restaurant, best in the country as far as I'm concerned. Directly next to it is the best Japanese restaurant around called Matuba. Another is 1.1.1.Another pricier place (the first 2 are very reasonable) is Tallula, with a great wine selection. Willow is new and also a bit pricey but very good. Sawatdee is a cheaper Thai option that is up there with Bangkok 54. Jaleo has a restaurant in Crystal city that is much less busy than the DC location, but just as good (Spanish Tapas if you’re unaware). Oyamel is next door and is a great upscale Mexican restaurant (I know that sounds like an oxymoron but believe me it’s worth a try).
